XI Class Admission 2024 – Apply Now

Online application for the XI Class Admission 2024-25 has started from last Sunday (May 26) and will continue till June 11. This time, applications will be accepted in three phases. The Ministry of Education has published the admission policy for XI Class Admission 2024-25. The maximum admission fee for colleges has been fixed.

Eligibility and Group Selection

  • Students who have passed SSC or equivalent examination under any education board of the country in the previous three years and are eligible for online admission to any college or equivalent institution subject to the other provisions of the policy. Apart from this, students who have passed from Open University including the previous year’s students can also apply for admission manually to the board. Students who have passed the equivalent examination from any foreign board or similar institution will be considered eligible for admission after Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board determines the standard of their certificate.
  • Students who have passed from the Science group can apply to any of the Science, Humanities and Business Education groups; Students who have passed from the Humanities group can apply to any of the Humanities and Business Education groups; and Students who have passed from the Business Education group can apply to any of the Business Education and Humanities groups.
  • Students who have passed from any group (Science, Humanities and Business Education) can apply to any of the Islamic Education, Home Economics and Music groups; Students who have passed from Madrasah Education Board in the Science group can apply to any of the Science, Humanities and Business Education groups; and Students who have passed from General and Mujibbid Mahfil groups can apply to any group except Science group.
  • Students who have passed SSC (Vocational) and Dakhil (Vocational) examinations from the Technical Education Board can apply for admission to any group of the general education board.

The concerned authorities or boards will submit a proposal to the controlling ministry or department regarding the schedule of application for admission, publication of results, admission and commencement of classes every year and obtain approval and issue it in the form of a notification every year.

Change of College or Equivalent Institution

Transfer certificate (TC) of a student admitted to class XI cannot be issued without the prior permission of the concerned education board. Or, admission cannot be made on the basis of a transfer certificate issued by the educational institution without the prior permission of the board. In case of admission through transfer certificate (TC), the college or equivalent institution authorities will have to submit the necessary documents including registration fee of such admitted students to the concerned education board within 15 days of admission.

Online Application

The admission policy for XI Class Admission 2024 published by the Ministry of Education states that online application for XI Class Admission 2024 will be made on the xiclassadmission.gov.bd website this year. Manual applications will not be accepted from general students except online. Students will have to pay an application fee of Tk 150 and choose a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 colleges in order of preference. The position of a student for admission to only one college will be determined based on his/her merit, quota and preference, whichever college he/she applies for.

Total Seats and Vacancies

A total of 20 lakh 13 thousand 597 students appeared in SSC and equivalent examinations this year. Of these, 16 lakh 72 thousand 153 have passed. There are about 25 lakh seats available for XI Class Admission 2024 across the country. Even if all the students are admitted, there will be a shortage of more than 8 lakh seats in class XI this year. So, even though the results are good this time, many colleges will face a student crisis.

Quota System

A total of 93% of the total vacant seats in class XI will be considered as merit quota. These vacancies will be open to all. The remaining 7% will be reserved for the children of freedom fighters like before, as before. Of the remaining 2%, 1% has been kept for the children of government officials and 1% for the children of officials and employees working in the departments and organizations under the ministry. As before, if there are no students in these seats, they will be considered in the merit quota. If there are more applicants in the quota, a merit list will be prepared.

Maximum Admission Fee

The maximum admission fee for class XI has been fixed at Tk 8,500 this year. Non-MPO colleges in Dhaka Metropolitan area can take admission fee at this rate. And non-MPO colleges in Bengali version of Dhaka metropolis can take maximum Tk 7,500 admission fee in class XI.

Non-MPO colleges in Bengali version of other metropolitan areas can take maximum

Tk 5,000 and non-MPO colleges in English version can take maximum Tk 6,000 admission fee. Non-MPO colleges in Bengali version can take Tk 3,000 and non-MPO colleges in English version can take Tk 4,000 fee at district level. And upazila level Bengali version non-MPO college Tk 2,500 and English version non-MPO college can take Tk 3,000 fee.

On the other hand, the admission fee for MPO affiliated colleges in Dhaka metropolis has been fixed at Tk 5,000 in Bengali and English versions. MPO-affiliated colleges in other metropolitan areas can take up to Tk 3,000 in Bengali and English versions. MPO-affiliated colleges and MPO-affiliated colleges in English can take Tk 2,000 fee at district level. And MPO affiliated colleges in Bengali version at upazila level can take Tk 1,500 and MPO affiliated colleges in English version can take Tk 1,500 fee.

Class Starts on July 30

Classes in class XI will start on July 30. There is no selection test for XI Class Admission 2024 except Notre Dame College in Dhaka and some other institutions. Students are admitted based on the results of SSC and equivalent. The position of a student for admission in an educational institution is determined on the basis of merit, quota (if applicable) and order of preference of the student from among the colleges applied for by the student.
