MBBS Admission

The Health Minister Jahid Malek has announced that a passing score of 40 has been set for the admission test of MBBS and Dental colleges. He mentioned that the MBBS admission test for the academic year 2023-2024 will be held on February 9 and the Dental admission test on March 8. Both exams will commence at 10 AM.

Health Minister Jahid Malek provided this information at a press briefing in the Health Ministry’s conference room yesterday (December 24) afternoon.

Minister Jahid Malek stated, ‘For the MBBS and BDS admission tests, the minimum pass mark (pass number) remains 40, just like last time. We’re allowing three attempts for migration. All colleges for private medical education have been kept open. Meaning, students can choose all colleges at once, and the same rule applies to government medical colleges.’

Referring to the exam schedule, the Health Minister mentioned that for the academic year 2023-2024, the MBBS admission test will take place on February 9, 2024, and the Dental admission test on March 8. Both exams will be held at 10 AM.

Regarding the total seat count for the upcoming MBBS admission test, the Health Minister mentioned that there are a total of 5,380 seats available for government medical colleges, with an increase of 1,030 seats this year. For private medical colleges, there are 6,348 seats available, and 375 seats have been allocated for Army Medical College and Hospital.

Present at the briefing were Secretary of Health Service Division Jahangir Alam, Secretary of Health Education Division Azizur Rahman, Director-General of Health Directorate ABM Khurshid Alam, Director-General of Health Education Division Professor Titu Mia, President of the Private Medical Association Mubin Khan, BMRC Representative Professor Shahidullah, Vice-Chancellor of Sylhet Osmani Medical University Enayet Hossain, BMRC Representatives, and representatives from both ministries.
