Chittagong University admission test starts on May 16, 2023

Chittagong University has announced that the admission test for the undergraduate first year (honours) in the academic year 2022-2023 will be started on May 16, 2023. The Deputy Registrar of the University, S.M. Akbar Hossain, issued a statement on Sunday, February 26, providing this information.

According to the announcement, the decision to conduct the admission tests for various units/sub-units of the university was made at the first meeting of the esteemed deans related to the admission to the first-year undergraduate (honours) class for the academic year 2022-2023. The probable schedule for the admission test for the different units/sub-units will be determined from May 16 to May 25. However, the dates for the admission tests of any unit for the next academic year are yet to be announced.

Chittagong University conducts admission tests for four units ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, and ‘D’, and two sub-units ‘B-1’ and ‘D-1’. Under the ‘A’ unit, all science and biology departments/institutes are covered; the ‘B’ unit is responsible for arts and humanities, the ‘C’ unit for business studies, and the ‘D’ unit for all departments of the Faculty of Social Science.

As per the previous year’s announcement, the admission test of the university was a 120-mark exam. It included a 100-mark multiple-choice written exam and 20 marks for the GPA obtained in the SSC and HSC exams. For the multiple-choice exam, negative marking was in place, with 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer. A passing score was set at 40 marks.
