BUET Admission Application Started

The application process for admission in the undergraduate classes in various departments of the Faculty of Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, and Electronic Engineering and Architecture and Planning of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) for the 2020-2021 academic year will start from April 15.

The online application will run until 3 pm on April 24. This information has been informed in a notification of the university on Saturday.

It said that due to the global epidemic of Covid-19, BUET’s admission test will be conducted in two stages through pre-selection and main admission test in compliance with hygiene rules.

In this context, the pre-selection test will be taken in four shifts. Candidates selected on the basis of merit in the pre-selection test will be given the opportunity to participate in the main admission test.

Those who can take part in the exam: All the qualifications that the student has to have to take part in the admission test are –
Candidates should pass the Secondary School Certificate / Entry / Equivalent Examination with a GPA of at least 5.00 on a scale of 5.00 in any department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Baird Madrasa Education Baird Technical Education Baird in the Department of Science (including Mathematics, Physics, and Science) Or must have passed the equivalent examination from the Foreign Education Baird with at least an equivalent grade.

Candidates must also have a minimum GPA of 5.00 on a scale of 5.00 in any secondary and higher secondary education bard, madrasa education bard / technical education bard in higher secondary / alim / equivalent examinations in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Secondary / Entry / Equivalent Examinations Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry must be passed with a minimum of 270 marks out of 300 in these three subjects or have to pass the Secondary / Entry / Equivalent examination or at least equivalent grade marks in the equivalent examination from the Foreign Education Board.

All the students from 1st to 24th thousand from the applicants will be given the opportunity to participate in the pre-selection examination. In this selection, the total marks obtained in the Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry examinations of the student’s secondary examination, the marks obtained in Mathematics, and the marks obtained in Physics will be considered as the order of priority.

Number of Seats: The total number of seats is 1215 including 3 reserved seats for Engineering Departments and 3 reserved seats for the Urban and Regional Planning Department and 1 reserved seat for Architecture Department for the candidates belonging to minority castes in Chittagong Hill Tracts and other areas.

According to the instructions given on the website, the application form has to be filled properly and submitted online. An application serial number will be given at the end of submission and subsequently, the application fee and admission fee through ‘Senali Bank Online Portal’, ‘Senali Bank Sonali esheba Mobile App’, Cash, Rocket, NexusPay, or Bikash Mobile Online Banking will be charged against this number.
