Rajshahi University Admission

Rajshahi University Admission Circular has been published. RU Admission Form can be filled through the admission.ru.ac.bd website. At the end of the application, the eligible candidate’s list will be published on the same website. Candidates on the preliminary selection list can apply for the final. Admit Card can be downloaded from the same website.

The admission notice has published the eligibility of application in different departments, the number of seats, admission test marks distribution and other information.

A maximum of 32,000 applicants will be given the opportunity of admission test in each unit on the basis of HSC and equivalent Results from the primary applicants. This list will include different quotas. Preliminary selected candidates will be able to make the final application.

The applicant has to participate in the admission test of the concerned unit. A detailed seat plan will be published before the admission test. Admission results will be published at the end of the admission test.

There are 941 seats in the Faculty of Arts of Rajshahi University. The faculty includes philosophy, history, English, Bengali, Islamic history and culture, Arabic, Islamic studies, drama, music, Persian language and literature, Sanskrit, and Urdu.

There are 160 seats in the faculty of law. This faculty consists of the Department of Law and the Department of Law and Land Administration.

There are 660 seats in the science faculty. The Faculty of Science includes the Departments of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Biochemistry, and Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Population Science and Human Resource Development, Applied Mathematics and Physical Education and Sports Science.

The Faculty of Business Studies has 510 seats. These faculties include the Departments of Accounting and Information Management, Management Studies, Marketing, Finance, Banking and Insurance, and Tourism and Hospitality Management.

There are 748 seats in the Faculty of Social Sciences. The faculties include Economics, Political Science, Social Work, Sociology, Mass Communication and Journalism, Information Science and Library Management, Public Administration, Anthropology, Folklore, and International Relations.

The Faculty of Biology and Geology has 444 seats. Here are the departments of Geography and Ecology, Psychology, Botany, Zoology, Geology and Mining, Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, and Medical Psychology.

There are 212 seats in the Faculty of Agriculture. There are departments of Agronomy and Agricultural Extension, Fisheries, Veterinary, and Animal Sciences and Crop Science and Technology.

There are 256 seats in the applied faculty. There are departments of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

The Faculty of Fine Arts has 120 seats. There are departments of painting, oriental art and printmaking, pottery and sculpture and graphic design, crafts, and history of art.

There are also 50 seats at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and 50 seats at the Institute of Education and Research (IER).

Application Eligibility

To apply to the University of Rajshahi, the candidate has to pass the HSC and equivalent examination of 2020. The candidates must also have the prescribed qualifications for the unit in which they are interested to apply. GPA will be calculated with the 4th subject.

Students who have passed HSC / equivalent examination from Humanities, Commerce, and Science will be able to apply in all the three units A, B, and C as per their qualifications.

Applicants who have passed the Humanities group should have a minimum Total GPA of 7.00 in both SSC / Equivalent and HSC / Equivalent examinations. Each test must have a separate GPA of at least 3.00.

Applicants who have passed the Business Studies Group should have a total GPA of at least 7.50 at the SSC and HSC level. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 separately at SSC and HSC level.

Applicants who have passed from the Science group should have SSC / Equivalent and HSC / Equivalent examinations with a minimum GPA of 8.00. Also SSC and HSC levels must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 separately.

Admission Test Marks Distribution

Total 100 Marks Admission Test will be held. MCQ Test will be held for 60 Marks. SAQ (Short Answer Question) Test will be held for 40 Marks. The total time will be 105 minutes. 50 minutes for the MCQ exam, 15 minutes for the MCQ Question paper Collect, and 40 minutes for the written exam. The MCQ exam will have a total of 60 questions. There will be 20 questions in the SAQ exam.
