DHAKA, Bangladesh – Feb. 17 – A new opportunity has been announced for students in XI class for the 2024-25 academic year. Education boards are now allowing students to change their subjects and academic groups. Students also have the option to cancel their admission if they wish.
This process will officially begin on February 20, 2025, and will continue until April 20, 2025. Students who intend to make any changes must complete the process within this timeframe.
Fees Set for Subject, Group Changes and More
Education boards have established fees for students who want to make changes. These fees will apply to several types of changes, including:
- Changes to individual subjects.
- Changes to academic groups (for example, changing from Science group to Humanities group).
- Cancellation of admission to XI class.
- Applications for Online Transfer Certificates (e-TC).
- Applications for Board Transfer Certificates (BTC).
The specific fees are as follows:
- Subject Change: 200 Taka
- Group Change: 800 Taka
- Admission Cancellation: 600 Taka
- Online TC and BTC: 700 Taka
Importantly, students will not be charged any fees for:
- Changes to their photograph on record.
- Cancellation of their optional fourth subject.

The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has issued an official notice regarding this new opportunity. Instructions have been sent to all educational institutions operating under the Dhaka Education Board.
How to Apply for Changes: Online and Offline Processes
For most changes, students can apply online, making the process easier.
Online Application (e-TC):
For online Transfer Certificates and other changes (excluding BTC), students should use the online system.
- Visit the official website of your Education Board.
- Locate and click on the e-TC button on the homepage.
- Carefully read and follow all instructions provided on the e-TC page.
- Fill in all the required information in the online application form.
- Pay the necessary fees through the online payment system.
Offline Application (BTC):
For students requiring a Board Transfer Certificate (BTC), an offline application process is in place.
- Go to the Education Board’s website.
- Find the Forms College section on the website.
- Download the HSC 1st Year BTC Form.
- Print and complete the form as per the given instructions.
- Pay the required fee for the BTC application.
- Submit the completed form and fee to room number 412 at the college branch office.
Role of Colleges in Processing Applications
Students are advised to first contact their respective colleges to initiate these changes. Colleges will then manage the applications through an online system.
Colleges are required to:
- Access the Education Board website.
- Click on the OEMS button on the website’s homepage.
- Log in using the college’s official EIIN and Password.
- Process student change requests online, adhering to all relevant regulations.
- Collect the stipulated fees from students for these changes.
- Deposit the collected fees to the Education Board through the Sonali Seba payment system.
Once the Education Board approves the changes, they will be formally implemented. Colleges will be able to view the updated student information online.
Direct Contact with Education Board Not Required (Except for BTC)
For all changes except for the Board Transfer Certificate (BTC), students do not need to visit the Education Board office in person. The online system is designed to handle these requests efficiently. Only for BTC applications is physical submission necessary.
This initiative provides a valuable opportunity for XI class students to adjust their academic path early in their higher secondary studies.
