Permission to send semester fees to foreign educational institutions

Bangladesh Bank has given permission to send semester fees for studying in foreign educational institutions. Last Tuesday, the Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank issued a notification in this regard.

The notification said that the required fees for two semesters and sessions can be sent by September 30 this year. Earlier, Bangladesh Bank had allowed remittances for two semesters/sessions in August last year due to the corona outbreak, which was effective till March 31 this year.

Many students admitted to foreign educational institutions are not able to go abroad due to covid. They are studying online. In such a situation, the facility of meeting the expenses of two semesters/sessions will help the students to continue their studies.
